Retractable Gangways – Swim 270 & 350

The Swim 270 and Swim 350 are retractable gangways designed for installation on medium and large yachts.
These models represent just one example of Compass Marine’s expertise in the custom design and manufacture of high-quality marine accessories.

Movement and Dimensions

The Swim gangways consist of two telescopic sections.

• Total length (fully extended): 270 cm or 350 cm

• Maximum width: 50 cm

• Minimum width at the tip: 45 cm

• Vertical travel: ±10°

The movement system is electro-hydraulic, managed by a programmable PLC control unit with software customizable to suit specific installation requirements.
Operation can be performed via a fixed control panel or by remote control, both supplied as standard.
Integrated limit switches ensure safe operation at all times.

Structure and Materials

The load-bearing structure is made entirely of AISI 316 stainless steel, while the walking surface is made of teak grating, with customization options available upon request.
All critical mechanical components — pins, screws, and pistons — are internally manufactured in AISI 316 stainless steel to ensure maximum durability and corrosion resistance.

The folding handrail automatically retracts during gangway stowage.
Swim gangways are engineered to support loads of up to 150 kg even at full extension.
